“Awesome workshop… with real take-home techniques that are both fun and do-able!”

I was chatting over coffee with a woman who had successfully completed my Shift your Stuff workshop some two weeks previously.

She was gushingly enthusiastic … Whoa safari, I said, start at the beginning.

Well, to begin with I was a little skeptical, I mean yet another self-help workshop on yet another Saturday morning … surely I should be able to sort myself out by now. I mean I’ve read everything there is to read, I’ve done every course, workshop, seminar and programme in the book … what more should I do?

So when the workshop started and you began to talk about fear and our conditioned responses to fear and how it sabotages our lives, I began to take notice. Everybody else starts from positive thinking, our limitless nature and how we should already be able to walk on water, but you seemed to be saying that it is OK to recognize the fear that sabotages our lives and that by embracing the negative thoughts, emotions and attitudes that flow from that fear, we can heal them at source and literally re-condition our lives.

By taking a snapshot of the quality of my life right now and realizing that all the external causes that I was blaming or worse still, hiding behind, such as time, money and my lack of qualifications were really just excuses. If the real causes are internal … our beliefs about ourselves, the world and our capacity to act meaningfully in that world, then we really DO have control over them and more importantly have the power to change them – to shift our stuff … your words, in a meaningful way.

So, I thought, what now? It’s all up to me but I still don’t know what the real cause is … I mean its buried deep in my subconscious, so what now … years of therapy?

Then out of nowhere you spring your Blockage Blowout technique on us… I was pretty scared, but you handled it wonderfully. Gentle yet firm and reassuringly nurturing and supportive.

Suddenly it was clear … the belief that I have held about myself since that event when I was only six, and the decision that I made about how useless I was. I had forgotten all about that … buried it deep I suppose. I could now clearly see how this belief, which, up until that point, I was not even consciously aware of, had set up and reinforced patterns in my life which were hurting me but which I was mindlessly unaware of. In almost every area of my life that was not working, I could trace the root cause back to this sabotaging belief about myself … and the worst thing was, that it was not even true to start with!

Then just when I was trying to reconcile all this and wondering how I was going to re-programme a life-time of LIES, out comes your Integrating New Beliefs exercise. In fifteen minutes I could see exactly how my old formula of thinking, self-talk and feeling was driving behavioral patterns that were almost designed to consistently and predictably create the results that were making me so miserable about my life.

Better still in just 10 minutes more, you showed me how to reverse those patterns and literally re-create my life to include those results which I was striving for all along but getting nowhere through my old patterns of thinking, feeling and doing … WOW!

Then you showed me, in an amazingly simple process, that results come from first BEeing, then DOing from that new state of BEING, to finally HAVEing what I truly want in my life.

Then you tied it all together with an Integrated Action Plan that was simple to follow, yet so profound when I began to work it.

Thank you so much Graham… you really have made a difference in my life!

So what is happening now I asked to hide the blush I felt reddening my ears … a sure sign that I was feeling embarrassed…

What’s happening now? She said, well, since the  Workshop, I have been super conscious of my old conditioning … catching it and exploring the root causes as you taught us. I have a long way to go but it is getting easier as it becomes a habit … just like you said by the way. From this exciting place in my life, I have made some pretty far reaching decisions about my toxic relationship and my dead-end job. I am comfortable with my new belief about myself that I am valuable and so I have already moved out on my own into a new townhouse and am searching for a job that allows me to develop my new chosen career path … I don’t want to give notice just yet. I’ll wait until I find something worthwhile and then make the shift. Even so, just knowing that I have a plan makes it easier to go into work everyday. It’s MY plan now!
